At M3 (Minimalist Mindmap Maker), we respect your privacy and are committed to protecting it. This Privacy Policy explains our practices regarding any information or data associated with your use of the M3 Chrome Extension (the "Extension").


## 1. No Data Collection (Zero Personal Data)

We do not collect, harvest, store, or transmit any Personally Identifiable Information (PII) or user data. 

- We do not ask for or collect names, email addresses, usernames, or any other personal details.

- We do not use cookies, tracking pixels, beacons, or third-party analytics tools (such as Google Analytics).


## 2. Local Data Storage & Mindmap Content

All data created within the Extension, including your mindmaps, nodes, connections, labels, custom coordinates, camera zoom levels, and preferred visual theme (Light/Dark mode) are stored strictly locally on your device.

- Technical Mechanism: The Extension uses the Chrome Storage API (`chrome.storage.local`) to persist your mindmaps across browser sessions.

- No Cloud Synchronization: None of your mindmap data is sent to external servers, cloud databases, or third parties. Your data remains 100% local and is completely private to you.


## 3. Permissions Used and Why

The Extension requests only one permission:

- **"storage"**: This is required solely to allow the Extension to save and load your mindmap structures locally on your device, ensuring you do not lose your work when closing the browser.


## 4. Third-Party Services

The Extension is built with zero dependencies. It does not integrate any third-party APIs, SDKs, or services, with the single exception of:

- **Google Fonts**: The Extension links to Google Fonts (`fonts.googleapis.com`) to render the clean typography ("Inter") of the user interface. Google Fonts does not track or collect mindmap content.


## 5. Data Retention & Security

Because your data is stored locally on your device:

- The security of your data depends on the security of your local device and browser.

- If you uninstall the Extension or clear your browser's local application data, your saved mindmaps will be deleted permanently. To protect your work, we recommend using the in-app "Export" feature to back up your maps.


## 6. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by updating the "Effective Date" at the top of this document. Your continued use of the Extension indicates your acceptance of any changes.
